> Send the experiments and variations a visitor was assigned to Amplitude as an event.

ABlyft has a built-in Amplitude integration. Once it is active, ABlyft sends an `ABlyft` event with the experiment and
variation names to Amplitude. You use these values to filter and group charts.

## What you need

* The Amplitude Browser SDK 2 is installed and initialized on your pages.

## Activate the integration

1. Open **Project → Integrations**.
2. Find the **Amplitude** card and switch the toggle from **Not active** to **Activated**.
3. Confirm. ABlyft republishes the project.

There are no settings for this integration.

## What you get

| Name | Value |
| ------------------------- | ---------------------- |
| Event | `ABlyft` |
| Property `experimentName` | Name of the experiment |
| Property `variationName` | Name of the variation |

The event is sent on **User bucketed**: once, when the visitor is assigned to a variation for the first time in this
browser. It is not repeated on later page views.

If the tool loads slightly later, ABlyft tries again for a short time.

Need a different format? [Build a custom integration](https://docs.ablyft.com/developers/integrations/custom-integrations/).

## Where you see the data in Amplitude

The event `ABlyft` is available like any other event. In a chart you can:

* filter by the event property `experimentName` to select one experiment,
* group by `variationName` to compare the variations,
* use the event as a step in a funnel, or as a cohort condition ("did `ABlyft` where `variationName` is ...").

Because the event is sent once per browser, analyze it as "users who were assigned", not as page views.

## Check the setup

1. Open your site in a new private window with an experiment you are bucketed into.
2. In the browser developer tools, look at the network requests to Amplitude for an event with the name `ABlyft`.
3. In Amplitude, look at the event stream of your own user and check that the event and its properties appear.

> **Notes:** The integration does not run when tracking is disabled for the visitor (opt-out or Do Not Track). Amplitude may need
> its own consent category in your consent tool.
