# Troubleshooting

> Find the cause when an experiment does not show, changes are missing or results look odd.



Most problems with experiments have a small number of causes. These pages help you find the right one quickly. Start
with the symptom that matches what you see.

- [Experiment does not appear](https://docs.ablyft.com/guides/troubleshooting/experiment-not-showing/): Visitors (or you) do not get a variation. Check status, pages, audiences, traffic and more.
- [Changes are missing](https://docs.ablyft.com/guides/troubleshooting/changes-missing/): The experiment runs, but the changes of a variation are not visible.
- [Results look implausible](https://docs.ablyft.com/guides/troubleshooting/implausible-results/): No conversions, an uneven split or numbers that seem too good to be true.

## A quick first check

Before you dig deeper, check these four things. They solve most cases.

1. **Is the snippet on the page?** Add `?ablyft_check=true` to the URL of your page. A pop-up with the text
   "ABlyft is implemented" confirms that the snippet is loaded.
2. **Is the experiment running?** Only **Running** experiments are delivered to every visitor. Experiments in
   **Preview** are only visible through their preview link. See [the statuses](https://docs.ablyft.com/guides/experiments/start-pause-stop/#the-statuses).
3. **Did you wait a moment?** After a change, the snippet is published automatically. See

4. **Are you looking at the right variation?** Use the preview to open a specific variation on purpose, see
   [Preview & QA](https://docs.ablyft.com/guides/experiments/preview-and-qa/).
