Mixpanel
Send the experiment and variation a visitor saw to Mixpanel as an event, so you can break down your reports by variation.
ABlyft has a built-in Mixpanel integration. Once you switch it on, ABlyft sends a Mixpanel event each time a visitor sees an experiment. You can then filter and break down your Mixpanel reports by experiment and variation.
What you need
- The Mixpanel JavaScript library is already loaded on the pages where your experiments run.
Activate the integration
- Open Project → Integrations.
- On the Mixpanel card, switch the toggle from Not active to Activated and confirm.
ABlyft then republishes the project. There are no further settings.
Where you see the data in Mixpanel
Trigger: Experiment viewed. ABlyft sends the data every time the experiment runs for the visitor. If the tool loads slightly later, ABlyft tries again for a short time.

Experiment name: name of the experiment, as text - Property
Variant name: name of the variation, as text
Need a different format? Build a custom integration.
The event ablyft_ab_test appears in your event list with the properties Experiment name and Variant name. In
reports such as Insights or Funnels, filter by one of these properties, or choose it under Breakdown to compare
variations. To see only visitors of one experiment, filter Experiment name first and then break down by
Variant name.
Check the setup
- Open a page with a running experiment, in a variation you are bucketed into.
- In Mixpanel, open Events (Live View) and look for
ablyft_ab_test. - Open the event and check the two properties.
Notes
Consent and tracking
The integration does not run when tracking is disabled for the visitor (opt-out or Do Not Track). Mixpanel may need its own consent category in your consent tool. Mixpanel does not send events for visitors who opted out of Mixpanel tracking.
