Mouseflow
Tag Mouseflow recordings with the experiment and variation a visitor saw, to filter recordings, heatmaps and funnels by variation.
ABlyft has a built-in Mouseflow integration. Once you switch it on, ABlyft adds two tags to the visitor's Mouseflow session each time the visitor sees an experiment. You can then segment Mouseflow data by experiment and variation.
What you need
- The Mouseflow tracking script is installed on the pages where your experiments run.
Activate the integration
- Open Project → Integrations.
- On the Mouseflow card, switch the toggle from Not active to Activated and confirm.
ABlyft then republishes the project. There are no further settings. Because of browser caching, a newly activated integration can take up to 48 hours to reach all visitors.
Where you see the data in Mouseflow
Trigger: Experiment viewed. ABlyft sends the data every time the experiment runs for the visitor. ABlyft does not wait for Mouseflow.
- Experiment tag "Experiment ID-Name", for example
1234 - Checkout test - Variation tag "Variation ID-Name", for example
5678 - Free shipping banner
Each tag contains the ID and the name. Need a different format, for example one combined tag? Build a custom integration.
The tags appear on the recordings of the visitor. Filter recordings by the experiment tag to see everyone who took part, or by the variation tag to see only one variation. Mouseflow's help article for the ABlyft integration describes that you can segment the Session Replay list, dashboards, heatmaps and funnels by these tags.
Check the setup
- Open a page with a running experiment, in a variation you are bucketed into.
- In Mouseflow, open the recording of your visit and check that the two tags are shown.
Notes
Consent and tracking
The integration does not run when tracking is disabled for the visitor (opt-out or Do Not Track). Mouseflow may need its own consent category in your consent tool. Experiment names with personal data should not be used, because they become part of the tags.
